Shortlisted for the Family Business of the Year Awards - Western Morning News 2019
We are super excited to announce that we have again been shortlisted for another family business of the year award!!
This time by the Western Morning News.
We are up against some amazing, local, family-run companies. Best of luck to every family in our category.
2019 has been a great year for Putnams, already winning the Family Business of the Year Award 2019 from the Herald.
Hopefully all the Putnam's can make it this time (last time Hedley had a bike crash the day before and broke his neck so understandably couldn't accept the award with Bubbles & Katie).
More about our family business:
James and Katie Putnam started the company in 1979 manufacturing taxi seats in London. They then went on to expand their product range into back rests, lumbar supports and pillows. In 1990 they relocated to Plymouth and built a factory at Langage Industrial Estate in the out-skirts of Plymouth. The children of James & Katie (Hedley & Bubbles Putnam) now run the business under the watchful eye of Katie (sadly James Putnam passed away in 2011 from Parkinsons disease & Cancer).
The company still manufactures in house from the same factory and turned 40 this year! Putnams is proud to be a manufacturing company that is not only family-run but employs other families within it. This year Putnams employed two mother-daughter teams.
